The second day of the competition was held at the city central stadium of Ulan-Ude. The final part of shooting from a traditional Buryat bow ("Surkharbaan" is the Buryat name) determined the best and most accurate shooter - he was Balzhinima Tsyrempilov. By the way, his victory was not in doubt, as he is a twenty-time champion of Russia, five-time champion of Europe, silver and bronze medalist of the World Championships, winner of the World Cup Final, participant of several Olympics as part of the Russian national archery team.
To present the award to the winner, the holder of the title "Dangina Surkharbaana" Sabina Donoeva came on stage. (Dangina is translated from Buryat as "beauty", the queen of the holiday, who is chosen before the start of the competition at the national republican beauty contest)
The winner of the championship in breaking the spinal bone ("Kheer Shaalgan" is the Buryat name) was Valery Lubsanov. In two days of competition, he was able to break 26 bones with his hand.
At the end of the holiday, the final competitions in national Buryat wrestling (Bukhe Burildaan is the Buryat name) took place. Before the start of the fight, the participants traditionally perform the "Eagle Dance". This ritual imitates the flight of the mythical bird Garuda, one of the earthly incarnations of Buddha Shakyamuni. The main rule of the fight is that the one who touches the ground with his knee or hand first loses.
The wrestlers are given 5 minutes to fight. If after 5 minutes there is no winner, the continuation of the fight is decided by lot. A coin is thrown into the air. The one who gets "heads" is given the right to be the first to grab the opponent by a special belt (sash).
If after another 5 minutes there is no winner, they throw lots again. The lucky one is given the right to be the first to grab the belt, but behind the opponent's back. This is the so-called "advantageous" or "deep" grip. Usually the one who took the "deep" grip wins the fight. At the end of the fight, the losing athlete, as a sign of respect, passes under the champion's hand. And the winner, in the "dance of the eagle", walks clockwise around the wrestling area. At this moment, he is congratulated and songs of praise are sung. This time, Bair Omoktuev became the champion in Buryat wrestling. However, like Tsyrempilov, he is a professional athlete and has the title of Honored Master of Sports of the Russian Federation. In addition, Bair Omoktuev is the Winner and two-time bronze medalist of the World Sambo Championships, Three-time European Champion, as well as Three-time Champion of Russia in combat sambo and Winner of the World Martial Arts Games. In the final, he managed to defeat Artem Radnaev, who became the Champion at the same festival six years ago.
