The world's largest ice rink with artificial surface has opened in St. Petersburg.
The grand opening took place on December 7, 2024. Famous figure skaters took part in the opening ceremony, including 2002 Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin, Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Moskvina, as well as her students, Olympic bronze medalists in the team competition (2022), Olympic bronze medalists in pair skating (2022), world champions (2021), European champions (2022), bronze medalists of the Grand Prix Final (2019), three-time champions of Russia (2022, 2024, 2025), silver medalists of the Russian Championship (2023) Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Galliamov. During the opening ceremony, a new world record was registered in the Russian Book of Records — 28 thousand square meters of skating rink area. The comfortable capacity of the ice rink exceeds 2,500 people. On holidays and weekends, the skating rink hosts ice discos and dance shows. Free admission to the skating rink is available in the morning hours on weekdays and weekends.
«The Flagstaff Rink» was organized by Gazprom and became a real gift for all residents and guests of St. Petersburg. It is located on the banks of the Neva River and vacationers can observe the main architectural landmarks of the city in recent years right from the skating rink — the Lakhta Center skyscraper and the Gazprom Arena stadium, where the Zenit football club plays its home matches.
