On May 18, Moscow hosted the next annual parade of cyclists. This year's event set a record for the number of participants with more than 65 thousand people.
For the sake of this event, one of Moscow's main roads, the Garden Ring, was blocked for one day. At the starting point, everyone could participate in various entertainment contests, carry out free technical repairs of their bicycles and have a little snack on the food courts. At 13.00, a column of cyclists began the start along the Garden Ring. The length of the route is just over 15 kilometers. This distance turned out to be too small for many, and some riders went to the second and third laps. Along with the cyclists, a new Russian car, the Moskvich 3E, also took to the road. Accompanied by police motorcycles, he also made a lap of honor around the city center. In addition, completely different urban modes of transport took part in the parade, there were people on scooters and monowheels. But special attention was paid to bicycles. Some specimens were striking in their scale and unusual solutions. The owners of unusual bicycles willingly talked about their inventions and what inspired them to create unusual bicycles.
At the finish line, an entertainment program was prepared for all participants with the participation of various musicians and dance groups. Many participants not only rode around the center of the capital, but also pleased the audience with their bright outfits and images. And for those who missed this bright and fun event, the city authorities will hold another one in the summer - a night bike parade. Everyone will be able to take a leisurely ride around Moscow in the evening and enjoy its views in the company of like-minded people.
2024's event set a record for the number of participants with more than 65 thousand people.
